Wedding season in full swing!

It’s my busy time and I’m loving all the great wedding venues, new and old. This year has me shooting weddings in Lodi, Stockton, Sacramento, Vallejo, Lockeford, The Delta, Walnut Creek, Marin County, Southern Baja and Poland. I’ve started the year off photographing weddings in Folsom, Lodi and Baja and I’m really excited about those events and the ones to come. I hope to post some images soon!
Cheers,

Ian and Megan of Exotikite are engaged, with a wedding date set for March 20th.
What a great couple! With a successful kiteboarding school in Los Barriles, these two just seem perfect for each other. We had a fun little engagement shoot on the beach and hope to have an on-the-water photo shoot as soon as the winds return.

Janice and Reza Engagement Session!

Janice and Reza enjoying the movie of life together

I LOVE doing engagement sessions! Janice and Reza had some great ideas and knew exactly what they wanted.  They are movie buffs and wanted to portray that as well as their favorite restaurant (Chili’s) with them sipping an all too colorful strawberry margi! What a fun day! Did I tell you how much I LOVE this job?

Keepin’ in Style at the Grand Island Mansion

Megan and David Gery! What a fun wedding! I LOVE weddings at the Grand Island Mansion anyway, but this one came complete with a beautiful couple, great families, motorcycle with sidecar and a tricked out ’33 Chevy. Megan chose to have a candlelight ceremony and a candy bar. Her dress was stunning and she wore it well. David and the guys hammered down some Blue Label Johnnie Walker to get them ready, and later, Diamond Dave got everyone up and dancing, singing and shouting right along with him. That guy is pretty amazing!

Congratulations David and Megan!

Sacramento Bride and Groom Magazine Award Winner!

I’m thrilled to report that one of my images took second runner up in Sacramento Bride and Groom Magazine’s cover contest!  I’m pretty excited about this recognition.  It’s one of my photos of Brooke Ulmer in the corner at the Rivermill in Stockton.  Brooke is beautiful and she was just glowing on her wedding day. award-winning-image-of-brooke-at-the-rivermill

Sacramento Bride and Groom Magazine

Well…I did it. I decided to go for it by placing an ad in Sacramento Bride and Groom Magazine. Very exciting for me since it’s my first ad with them and I like the look and feel of the magazine. They’ve called for a short interview, so I’m curious to hear what type of questions they ask. As you may know, I do my share of writing for the Delta Explorer Magazine and I take the photos that go along with each story. I’ve had some great opportunities to meet and get to know some fascinating people that live and work in the Delta and the surrounding areas. My stories have included profiles on Al the Wop’s Bar and Restaurant in Locke, The River’s Edge in Isleton, The Ryde Hotel in Ryde, The Old Sugarmill in Clarksburg, Korth’s Pirate’s Lair on Brannon Island, Access Adventure in Fairfield, Amy Acuff – Acupuncturist and Olympic High Jumper from Isleton, Schumacher Ceramics in Clarksburg and Healing Touch Day Spa in Rio Vista. I’ll post the links to these articles soon.

Oh, I almost forgot…here are some of the images I’ve either submitted recently to magazines, or hope to submit soon, either for publication or for ad purposes. I always get permission first, and most brides and models are thrilled that their images will appear in a magazine. But hey, be sure to let me know if you object to being published.

Brooke and Kenny’s Wedding at the Rivermill

October has been a busy month for me. I am booking a TON of weddings for 2009. Seems that all of a sudden a bunch of couples either just got engaged, or they’ve been engaged since summer and have now decided to start booking their venues and photographers. When not meeting with couples, I’ve had the pleasure of photographing some beautiful weddings so far this month with more to come! Brooke and Kenny’s wedding at the Rivermill in Stockton was absolutely gorgeous! They are both very photogenic and full of love! What a sweet couple! Here are my favorite portraits of Brooke and Kenny alone. I’ll be posting more images soon.

Custom Guestbooks are HOT!

Have you seen the latest rage in guestbooks? I’ve been designing them like crazy lately and they are very popular. Currently used to replace or in addition to the “signature matted and framed photo,” these photo guestbooks are an excellent way to keepsake your favorite engagement images along with entries from your wedding guests. Here are a few page spreads.

Upcoming Weddings

Having an injury or illness sure makes you appreciate health! I’m healthy again and ready for my upcoming weddings. I’ll be shooting at some of my favorite venues this fall, including Wine and Roses, Amorosa Inn and Oak Farm Vineyards in Lodi, The Rivermill and Brookside in Stockton, The Grand Island Mansion and the Ryde Hotel in the Delta and then I head south of the border for 2 destination weddings in Mexico. I’ll be posting some of the highlights of my spring and summer weddings soon and showing some of the editorial work that I’ve recently completed.

Cheers!
